Marble cupcakes offer a seamless balance of vanilla and chocolaty. They’re already very rich, but if you’re a diehard chocolate lover like us, you can add a swirly layer of chocolate-vanilla frosting. Think about food for royalty!

You can use a toothpick to make the top of your cupcake look “marbled”. If you want to increase the health value of your cupcakes yet retain the mouthwatering vanilla-chocolate flavour, replace a cup of flour with a cup of semolina. The grainy new addition makes the texture of these cupcakes even richer and fuller.

How to Bake Center-Filled Cupcakes?

 Filled cupcakes

These scrumptious, center-filled cupcakes are the highlight of any party. Surprise your guests with these deceptively simple and guileless-looking cupcakes that hide a richer centre. Best of all, they’re simple and easy to bake. Simply bake cupcakes from scratch using your tried and tested recipes. Once you’re done, use your favourite baking decoration tools to remove the cake centre and add a filling of your choice.

These fillings can be:

  • 1.      Chocolate ganache
  • 2.      Salted caramel
  • 3.      Ferrero Rocher chocolates
  • 4.      Cream cheese
  • 5.      Cookie dough and similar others

But one thing is missing! No cupcake is complete without icing. To achieve the best icing for cupcakes, top the cupcake with the leftover frosting, and voila! You have a visual treat in your hands. In our experience, chocolate icing works best, taste great and leave you craving for more!

Not only are centre-filled cupcakes an exciting treat for your palate, they’re very fun to bake. The best thing about these cupcakes is that, with the inner filling and the surface frosting, they are so rich, you can snack on them and not need to eat anything else the whole day! The silky, velvety, moist frosting is absolutely delicious.

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1  2/3rd cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon cinnamon powder

Pre-heat oven to 190°C and line your cupcake tray with baking cups. In a bowl, beat sugar, oil and eggs. Stir in the bananas and vanilla extract. Mix in the remaining ingredients until the batter is moistened. Divide the batter evenly into the baking cups. Bake for approximately 21 minutes or until the cupcake bounces back to touch.

Cool before serving. To bring out the rich cinnamon flavour, frost your cupcakes lavishly with honey and cinnamon icing. Make frosting swirls and top with a banana slice for a perfect look.

Salted Caramel Recipe for the Center-Filled Cupcakes

Ingredients:

½ cup heavy cream

6 tablespoons butter (unsalted) (90 grams)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt (if you are using salted butter use ½ tsp salt instead)

Method

Heat the sugar in a pan at low heat while stirring continuously with a spatula. Once the sugar is completely melted and has a rich brown color, add your butter. The caramel will begin to bubble, continue to stir until the butter is completely mixed in the sugar. Once done, gradually pour in the cream while stirring constantly. Once all the cream is added allow it to boil for a minute before removing it off the stove. Remove from heat and add the salt, mixing it in thoroughly. Allow it to cool before using.
